A Ridge ring is a good buy if you want a tough, modern wedding band or everyday ring without paying jeweler prices, and especially if you work with your hands. Every metal set comes with a silicone band for the gym or the job site, and Ridge will replace the ring up to twice if it is lost, damaged or no longer fits. The thing to understand before you buy is what the ring is actually made of: most Ridge rings are tungsten, and the gold and platinum versions are a coating over tungsten, not solid precious metal. We checked every ring set on Ridge's own product pages and its warranty terms on October 19, 2026, so the materials and prices below are what Ridge listed that day. Before you order, check our Ridge discount codes.

The short answer: which Ridge ring to buy

  • A classic dark band: a tungsten set in Gunmetal or Royal Black, $140 when we checked.
  • The lightest metal ring: the Stonewashed Titanium set, $149.
  • Something different: Mopane Wood ($149) or Carbon Fiber 3K ($175).
  • A gold or platinum look: the 24K Gold or Platinum sets at $195, knowing they are a PVD coating over tungsten.
  • Just for the gym or work: a Silicone Ring Set on its own, $49.

What comes in a Ridge ring set

Every Ridge metal ring set is two rings in one box: a metal band and a matching silicone band. The idea is that you wear the metal ring day to day and switch to silicone for workouts, sports or work where a hard ring could catch or get damaged. Each set also includes a protective travel case.

The metal rings have a convex inside, which Ridge calls a no-pinch fit. It is curved rather than flat against your finger, which makes a wide ring easier to slide over the knuckle and more comfortable to wear. You also choose an edge:

  • Rounded: a domed, softer profile.
  • Beveled: flat on top with angled edges, for a sharper, more modern look.

Tungsten: the default, with one big trade-off

Most Ridge rings are tungsten, and for good reason. Tungsten is very hard, so it shrugs off the everyday scratches that mark softer metals, and Ridge adds a scratch resistant PVD coating on top. Ridge's ring review summary says owners frequently praise the scratch resistance and the black tungsten finishes.

The trade-off is that tungsten is hard but brittle. A jeweler cannot resize it, and a hard knock against stone or tile can crack it rather than bend it. That is exactly why Ridge's Forever Fit coverage, explained below, matters so much for a tungsten ring.

Is the Ridge 24K Gold ring real gold?

It has real precious metal on the surface, but it is not a solid gold ring. Ridge's product page explains that its PVD process layers precious metal over a tungsten core, which gives a gold or platinum look with tungsten's scratch resistance. That is a sensible design for a ring you wear every day, but it is not the same as a solid 24K gold band, and it is priced accordingly at $195 rather than thousands.

Titanium, carbon fiber and tantalum

  • Stonewashed Titanium ($149): titanium is much lighter than tungsten, so this is the one to pick if you dislike the feel of a heavy ring.
  • Carbon Fiber 3K ($175): a woven carbon look that stands out from metal bands.
  • Tantalum Carbide ($495): Ridge's premium option, in 24K Gold or Platinum finishes. It costs more than three times a tungsten set, so it is for people who specifically want that material.

Ridge ring widths and sizes

Ridge sells four widths, and the width changes which sizes you can get:

WidthSizes on Oct 19, 2026Best for
2 mm4 to 9, in half sizesSlim, delicate bands
4 mm5 to 12, in half sizesA narrow, classic band
6 mm6 or 7 to 14, in half sizes, depending on the styleA medium band, the middle of the range
8 mm6 or 7 to 14, in half sizes, depending on the styleA bold, wide band

The Silicone Ring Sets come in 6 and 8 mm, in whole sizes from 6 to 14.

How to get your Ridge ring size right

  1. Get measured at a jeweler if you can, or use a ring sizer at home rather than a strip of paper.
  2. Measure at the end of the day. Fingers are usually slightly bigger in the evening and when you are warm.
  3. Think about width. A wide band covers more of your finger and can feel snugger than a narrow band in the same size, so if you are between sizes on an 8 mm ring, the larger size is usually the safer choice.
  4. Remember the silicone ring may fit differently. It stretches, so it is more forgiving than the metal band.

If you still get it wrong, you are covered. Ridge's review summary says a few owners had sizing trouble at first, and most solved it through Ridge's exchange process.

Never Lost, Forever Fit: Ridge's ring coverage

Black and white photo of two grooms in suits holding hands, showing their wedding bands

Every Ridge ring is covered by a program Ridge calls Never Lost, Forever Fit. According to Ridge's warranty page, as of October 2026:

  • What it covers: a change in ring size, loss, theft, damage from regular use and accidental damage.
  • How many times: up to two replacement rings per ring.
  • Proof of purchase: may be required for lost or stolen rings, so keep your order email.
  • Engraving: a replacement for an engraved ring comes with the same engraving.

Ridge advertises this on the product page as two free replacements. For a tungsten ring that cannot be resized and could crack, that coverage is a big part of the value. Ridge also offers a 99-day trial on its products, and shipping was free on most US orders over $35 when we checked.

Are Ridge rings good wedding bands?

For many people, yes. On October 19, 2026, Ridge's main ring set pages showed 4.9 out of 5 stars from 3,727 reviews, and the 2 mm sets showed 4.9 from 4,509 reviews. The review summary says owners praise the fit, the comfort, the scratch resistance and the smooth exchange process, and that some find the rings lighter than expected.

A Ridge band makes the most sense if you:

  • want a modern, durable band at a fraction of what a jeweler charges for solid gold or platinum,
  • work with your hands or train often, and will actually use the silicone band,
  • like the safety net of two replacements if you lose it or your size changes.

It makes less sense if you want a solid precious metal heirloom ring, or a band a jeweler can resize and repair for decades.

How to pay less for a Ridge ring

  1. Start with tungsten. Gunmetal and Royal Black were $140 on October 19, 2026, the cheapest metal sets.
  2. Buy during a sale. Ridge was running a Friends and Family sale of up to 40% off when we checked, which is why most ring sets showed a lower price next to a crossed out one.
  3. Check our current Ridge coupon codes before you check out.
  4. Do not overbuy the material. A $140 tungsten set and a $195 gold coated set are the same tungsten underneath.

Most Ridge metal rings are tungsten. Ridge also sells titanium, carbon fiber and tantalum carbide rings, and every metal set comes with a silicone band. The gold and platinum rings are a PVD coating over tungsten.

Are Ridge 24K Gold rings real gold?

They have precious metal on the surface, applied with a PVD process over a tungsten core, according to Ridge's product page. They are not solid gold rings.

Tungsten rings cannot be resized by a jeweler. Instead, Ridge's Never Lost, Forever Fit program covers a change in size, and Ridge will send a replacement ring in the new size, up to two replacements per ring.

Are Ridge rings good wedding bands?

They are a popular choice. Ridge's ring sets showed 4.9 out of 5 stars from thousands of reviews on October 19, 2026, and owners praise the fit and scratch resistance. They suit people who want a durable modern band rather than a solid gold or platinum ring.

What does Ridge Never Lost, Forever Fit cover?
