Free samples by mail are real: brands send them to people who match the customers they want, in exchange for your details and, often, your feedback. This guide covers the sites that send samples with no purchase, the brand programs worth joining, and how to keep spam out of your inbox. It is part of our money saving tips series.

How free samples by mail work

Brands mail free samples so you try a product, share feedback and, ideally, buy it later. You fill in a profile, a sample site matches you with brand campaigns, and the brand ships the product at its own cost. In return, you share your email, a few details about your household and, often, a short review.

ProductSamples.com explains the deal clearly in its FAQ (checked October 2026):

  • Its brand campaigns never ask you to pay for a sample or its shipping.
  • Neither ProductSamples.com nor its brand partners will ask for payment information.
  • Samples take a few days to ship and up to three weeks to arrive.
  • Orders are limited to one per person, and sometimes one per household.

That is the standard every source of free mail samples should meet. There are three other kinds of offers, and it helps to know which is which:

  • Brand clubs send samples and coupons when you share a detail such as a baby's due date.
  • Free samples with purchase are gifts added to an order. They are only worth it if you were buying anyway.
  • Product testing gives you a full size product for an honest review.

If you want free samples no purchase required, stick to sample sites and brand clubs.

Free beauty and skincare samples

The best free beauty samples without purchase come from beauty rewards birthday gifts and from sample offers that brands post for a limited time. Ulta Beauty Rewards gives members a birthday gift they can pick up in store with no purchase. If you are buying anyway, gifts with purchase add free minis to your order.

  • Ulta birthday gift. Ulta's rewards terms (last updated August 16, 2026) say no purchase is necessary when you redeem the birthday gift in store, while online and pickup orders need a product purchase. Our Ulta Rewards points chart covers the rest of the program.
  • Brand sample offers. Skincare and fragrance brands post sample request forms for a short time. Hip2Save and the Beauty Freebies section on HeyItsFree collect them as they open.
  • Gifts with purchase. On October 5, 2026, Ulta's gifts with purchase page listed 133 offers. One example: free La Roche-Posay Skin Barrier Icons with a $50 La Roche-Posay purchase, valid through October 24, 2026. These are free samples with purchase, so count them only if the order was already on your list.

Free baby and household samples

Formula brands run the biggest free baby sample programs. Enfamil Family Beginnings offers free samples and up to $400 in free gifts, and MySimilac Rewards offers up to $400 in benefits, with formula samples possible in its welcome kit. For household products, Freeosk kiosks and ProductSamples.com boxes are the steadiest sources.

Baby samples

  • Enfamil Family Beginnings asks for your name, email and due date or your baby's birth date. Members get free samples, offers and messages from Enfamil, plus 1,000 points for their first app download and login (checked October 2026).
  • MySimilac Rewards offers coupons, nutrition support and a free Shutterfly photo book when you join. Similac's fine print says offers may vary, some may carry shipping and handling fees, and some may require a visit to a participating healthcare facility (checked October 2026).

Ask your baby's doctor before you switch formulas because of a sample.

Household samples

  • Freeosk is free. Scan its app at a participating kiosk to get a sample while supplies last, then leave feedback if you want. Freeosk lists Sam's Club, ShopRite and Fresh Grocer as host stores (checked October 2026).
  • ProductSamples.com sends household and personal care samples when a campaign matches your profile.

Full size free samples and product testing

Full size free samples usually come through product testing, where you get the real product in exchange for an honest review. Amazon Vine sends free products to invited reviewers, and Social Nature pays cash back of up to 100% on some full size products you buy in store. Both expect a review in return.

Amazon Vine

Amazon Vine is an invitation only program for the most helpful reviewers on Amazon, called Vine Voices. Members request products that ship to them at no cost, then post honest reviews, which carry a "Vine Customer Review of Free Product" badge. Amazon says Vine Voices are not paid, and that shoppers who consistently write insightful reviews are the most likely to be invited (Amazon Vine, checked October 2026).

Social Nature

Social Nature lists more than 1.2 million members. You pick an offer, buy the product in store, upload your receipt for cash back, and write a review to get access to more offers. On October 5, 2026, several offers on its homepage paid 100% back, which makes the product free after the rebate.

How to get more samples without spam

To get more samples without spam, use a separate email address for sample sign ups, fill in your profile honestly so brands can match you, and unsubscribe from senders you no longer want. Never pay for a free sample: ProductSamples.com says neither it nor its brand partners will ask for payment information.

These habits help you get free samples by mail more often while keeping your main inbox clean:

  1. Use a separate email address only for samples and rewards.
  2. Complete your profile. ProductSamples.com says it sends offers when it has samples that match your profile and interests.
  3. Claim offers quickly. Most free samples are limited to one per person and run while supplies last.
  4. Unsubscribe freely. Under the CAN-SPAM Act, marketing emails must explain how to opt out, and senders must honor your request within 10 business days (FTC, checked October 2026).
  5. Skip anything that asks for a card or a shipping fee. Free samples without purchase should not need your card at all. A "free" offer that does is often a trial that turns into a charge. The FTC explains how free trials work.

If you want one app, the best app for free samples in stores is Freeosk, because you scan it at the kiosk and the sample comes out on the spot. For bigger savings at the stores you already use, join their free store rewards programs.

Free samples by mail FAQ

How can I get free samples by mail with no purchase?

Join a sample site that ships at its own cost, such as ProductSamples.com, and fill in your profile so brands can match you to campaigns. Expecting parents can also join Enfamil Family Beginnings or MySimilac Rewards. Check freebie lists like Hip2Save for brand sample forms. Never pay a fee or enter card details for a free sample.

Which brands send free samples?

Brands change their sample offers often, so the list moves every week. As of October 2026, Enfamil and Similac run ongoing baby programs with free samples, and brands also hand out products through ProductSamples.com, Freeosk kiosks and Amazon Vine. Freebie blogs like Hip2Save post new brand sample forms as soon as they open.

How long do free samples take to arrive?

Most free samples arrive within a few weeks. ProductSamples.com says its samples take a few days to ship and up to three weeks to be delivered. Brand sample forms set their own timing, so check each offer's terms. Keep a note of what you requested and when, so you can spot anything that never arrives.
